The Eleventh Schedule to the Constitution of India contains matters on which the Panchayats may be devolved with powers and responsibility by the State Legislatures, by law.〔 〕 The Eleventh Schedule was added to the Constitution by the 73rd Amendment, which came into force on 24 April 1992.
